1. Plan your “trip.”
First you want to decide how long you wish for this experience to last. Do you want it to be a week long or weekend long event? Or, is it something you want to experience all in one day? Decide how much time you can dedicate to this staycation so you can better decide how many activities you will need.

2. Start your research.
Gather the family and head to the library and internet to find all you can about Greece. Get an idea what daily life is like including common family activities, food, customs, etc. Make a list of the ones you wish to explore.

3. Begin your countdown.
Build anticipation amongst the family by starting a countdown. Talk each day about your upcoming staycation and the activities you are looking forward to!

4. Prepare your supplies.
Use the “must haves” list we created to make sure you have everything you need for a successful Greece staycation! This list will allow you to prepare ahead of time so when it comes time for your trip, all you need to do is enjoy.

5. Give up technology.
When preparing for your staycation, truly prepare to enjoy it. This means giving up phones and computers so you can better soak in the experience. Let family know you will be enjoying this staycation so they can be sure they do not interrupt you.

6. Be flexible.
You may not get to experience all of the activities of Greece, but be flexible to experience all you possibly can in the confines of your community!

7. Document your “trip.”
Don’t forget to have a camera so you can document your staycation and inspire others to explore other cultures in their own backyard.

Give these tips a try and you will be well on your way to planning a fantastic Greece staycation!
